　　西聯學校的三道大門對應門口的三條大道：博大路、萬青路、學苑路，因而分別取名為：博大門、萬青門、學苑門。從古至今，人類知識的積累浩瀚如星辰大海，西聯學校意欲培養博學多聞、終身閱讀之陽光學子，正是：其門博大，修身立德。老西南聯大師生在戰火中勤學不輟，如今國泰民安，華夏錦繡，“學苑門”內莘莘學子，朗朗清風，正是：筆耕學苑，讀書報國。西聯人不忘先賢救亡圖存之赤誠，傳承和弘揚老一輩聯大人愛國為民、剛毅堅卓的精神，修煉愛國之心、培育報國之能，積極投身新時代實現中國夢的偉大事業中去，必將使西聯再次成為新時代的豐碑，正是：千秋萬代，西聯長青。

Boda Gate, Wanqing Gate, Xueyuan Gate

　　The three gates of Affiliated School of Kunming NSAU Research Institute correspond to three avenues at the gate: Boda Road，Wanqing Road，Xueyuan Road. Thus, they are respectively named as Boda Gate, Wanqing Gate and Xueyuan Gate. Since ancient times, the accumulation of human knowledge is as vast as the stars and the sea. Affiliated School of Kunming NSAU Research Institute intends to cultivate students who are open-minded and upright in spirit as cultivating morality in breadth and depth. As we know，the teachers and students of the National Southwestern Associated University studied hard during war. Now our country flourishes and people live in peace as Xueyuan Gate represents that the diligent studies of assiduous students for China’s splendid future. “夢麟苑”“貽琦苑”“伯苓苑”

　　我校有小學、初中、高中三個學部，相應學部的教學樓以西南聯大三位校長的名諱來命名。在這所風清氣正的陽光學校，“太陽花”們吮吸春露，向陽生長，追尋夢想，揚帆起航，小學部以蔣夢麟校長之名命名為“夢麟苑”；陽光少年，如梅如玉，剛毅堅卓，以夢為馬，展望未來，初中部以梅貽琦校長之名命名為“貽琦苑”；“志學”之人，胸懷祖國，放眼世界，敢擔當，能勝任，成英才，高中部以張伯苓校長之名命名為“伯苓苑”。

Jiang Menglin Teaching Building, Mei Yiqi Teaching Building and Zhang Boling Teaching Building

　　Affiliated School of Kunming NSAU Research Institute (also abbreviated as Xilian School)   possesses three academic divisions: primary school, junior high school and senior high school. The teaching buildings of the three academic divisions are named after three presidents of NSAU, Jiang Menglin, Mei Yiqi and Zhang Boling. In this sunny, clean and upright school, students in primary school will grow up towards the sun with the nutrients from spring dew just like little sunflowers. They pursue their dreams and start their lives happily here. The teaching building of the primary school, Jiang Menglin Teaching Building, is named after Jiang Menglin. The teaching building of the junior high school takes the name of Mei Yiqi. The students in junior high school are anticipated to be strong in mind and determined in volition. The teaching building of the senior high school is named after Zhang Boling. Students in senior high school are anticipated to obtain prominent achievements in their studies, and become excellent talents with enthusiasm for the motherland, courage to responsibility, worldwide eyesight.

the International Division

　　Located in the area of Yunnan, a place with a history of thousands of years, the celebrated International Division of the school observes the world. It is a place for communication and study among different cultures. With the principle of admiring the beauty of different cultures, the school is cultivating students with worldwide eyesight and the ability of intercultural communication. At the same time, the division has paved a colorful road for cultural communication with the Chinese spirit and the worldwide eyesight. With the pedagogy of the division, students will bring the profound and broad Chinese culture to the world. The splendid world civilization will invigorate modern China, as well. “楨干樓”“楨干大道”“楨干廣場”

　　我校萬青門附近的行政樓、行政樓樓前廣場與博大門至學苑門的校園主干道，分別命名為楨干樓、楨干廣場、楨干道?！皹E干”一詞源自原國立西南聯合大學校歌《滿江紅》中“絕檄移栽楨干質，九州遍灑黎元血”之句?！皹E”即剛木，“干”指主體，“楨干”原意為古代筑墻時所用的木柱，此處引申為“社稷之楨干,國家之棟梁”，勉勵我西聯學子以家國天下為己任，勤奮向學，不負韶華，爭當國家棟梁！

Zhen’gan building, Zhen’gan Boulevard, Zhen’gan square

　　We denominate the administration building near the Wanqing Gate as Zhen’gan building, the area/space in front of the administration building as Zhen’gan Square, and the main street from Boda Gate to Xueyuan Gate as Zhen’gan Boulevard.

　　Zhen’gan, extracted from one of the lyric, “Backbones of the Nation have been transplanted to the remote border of the Motherland. Blood of the Civilians has been splashed on the earth of China.”, of Anthem of National Southwestern Associated University—Manjianghong, means that during the period when the Japanese Invasion caused millions of deaths across China, many ambitious talents and scholars have transferred to a border province in the southwest part of China with the hope to save the country through learning. Zhen means the strong and solid wood; Gan means the trunk. Zhen’gan originally was used to build guarding walls in ancient times, which is later a metaphor of backbones of the nation. We choose these two words as the names of construction to urge our students to treasure every moment, and encourage them to get committed to learning and undertake the responsibilities of constructing a strong country and ultimately, a peaceful world.

“來哲堂”

　　學校禮堂命名為“來哲堂”，其左引楨干樓，右臨葵茶廳，是學校進行會議報告、文藝演出、戲劇表演等活動的重要場所。西南聯大校歌所歌“動心忍性希前哲”和西南聯大紀念碑碑文所記“以此石，象堅節，紀嘉慶，告來哲”相得益彰?！皝碚芴谩痹⒁庖浴跋Ｙt哲”而“告來哲”，一方面激勵學校師生學習前輩志士仁人，踏著他們的足跡，博觀約取，厚積薄發，鉆研學識，向未來的賢哲進取。另一方面，學校敬迎賢哲，讓他們的智慧去點亮師生思想的火花。

Laizhe Auditorium

　　The school auditorium, Laizhe, with its left connecting Zhen’gan building and its right closing to Sunflower Tea Canteen, is an important place for school to hold conference, theatrical performance and other activities. “Motivate your heart, restrain your emotion by admiring your foregone sages.”said in the National Southwest Associated University’s school anthem, complements well with“ By writing this tablet inscription, we will concrete our unswerving integrity, celebrate the great success against the Japanese Invasion and ultimately, admonish our successors.”, written in the monument of National Southwest Associated University. On the one hand, it encourages teachers and students to learn from the predecessors, follow in their footsteps to accumulate knowledge in breadth and depth and strive hard to be a wise person in the future. On the other hand, the school respects and receives foregone sages to light the spark of the teachers and students.

“友蘭樓”“羅庚樓”“稼先樓”

　　西聯學校的三棟綜合樓內設有物理、化學、生物的常規實驗室，信息技術教室、通用技術實驗室、微生物實驗室、石墨烯實驗室、心理中心等多功能場所，同時還設有音樂教室、美術教室，歷史和地理功能教室等人文藝術教室，是一個集科學探究和人文熏陶為一體的綜合場館。實驗室是培養學生觀察、思維、創新能力，激發學生科學探索精神的重要場所。人文藝術教室是培養學生品味生活的能力和獲得幸福生活途徑的地方。西聯學校的三棟綜合樓分別以西南聯大時期著名的哲學、數學和核物理學領域的三位大師——馮友蘭先生、華羅庚先生和鄧稼先先生的名字命名，旨在以三位大師為師生之楷模，引導師生秉承大師們嚴謹的科學精神與態度，樹立對國家與民族的責任感。

　　The three complex buildings of Affiliated School of Kunming NSAU Research Institute are equipped with Physics Laboratories, Chemistry Laboratories, Biology Laboratories, Informational Technique Laboratories, General Technique Laboratories, Microbiology Laboratories, Graphene Laboratories, Multi-functional Psychological Center etc. Meanwhile, there are also teaching places for arts and humanities such as Music Classrooms, Art Classrooms, Dancing Rooms and History and Geography Classroom in the three buildings etc., which are playing important roles in fundamental scientific researches and cultural surveys. In addition, these laboratories are important venues to train students' ability of observation, thinking and innovation and stimulate their spirit of scientific exploration. Besides, these labs and classrooms are also essential places for the cultivation of students’ good tastes of a better life and acquisition of the essence of living well. Affiliated School of Kunming NSAU Research Institute have denominated its three comprehensive buildings after three famous masters in philosophy, mathematics and nuclear physics during the Southwest Associated University period: Mr. Feng Youlan, Mr. Hua Luogeng and Mr. Deng Jiaxian and the aim is to take the three masters as the models of staffs and students in our school, to guide all teachers and students to inherit the rigorous scientific spirit and attitude of the masters, to establish a sense of responsibility to the whole nation.

　　西聯學校重視培養西聯人終身閱讀的習慣，西聯學校的校級紙質圖書室、閱覽室、云智慧圖書館為師生提供了優良的閱讀資源。將兩大圖書室分別命名為“存典室”“聞韶室”?！按娴洹比∽詣⑽牡湎壬盎钕聛硎菫榱吮４妗肚f子》”的典故，寓意西聯學校圖書室藏書浩如煙海，汗牛充棟，為聯大續香火，為國家育棟梁?！奥勆亍背鲎杂凇墩撜Z·述而》：“子在齊聞《韶》，三月不知肉味?！币庵^西聯師生讀書廢寢忘食，在知識的海洋中遨游，在精神的階梯上攀登。

Cundian Library & Wenshao Library

　　Affiliated School of Kunming NSAU Research Institute attaches great importance to developing the lifelong reading habits of its people. The school library is made up of paper library, reading room and cloud wisdom library, providing access to excellent reading resources in print and online. The two libraries are named as “Classics Preservation Library” and “Wenshao Library”. “Cundian ” is taken from the allusion of Master Liu Wendian that “to survive is to preserve the work “Zhuangzi”(Taoist classic by Zhuangzi and his followers)”. With a vast accumulation of books, our school is committed to carrying on the spirit of NASU and to cultivating pillars for the country. “Wenshao”is an allusion to” “The Analects of Confucius: A Transmitter”saying that “When the Master Confucius was in Qi Kingdom, once he heard the Shao (a kind of ancient music), and for three months did not know the taste of meat”. It implicates that our teachers and students forget all about eating and sleeping when they read, soaking themselves in the ocean of knowledge and climbing new heights in spirits.

　　彩云之南，花都春城；西南聯大創造的教育奇跡，如今再次在這片熱土上萌芽生長。公寓是師生教學之余休息棲息之所，“云棲樓”、“云卷樓”、“云舒樓”三樓呈“品”字排布，“云棲樓”懷抱其余兩樓，寓意為教學上老師引領學生勇往直前，休息時間老師呵護學生真心實意?！霸啤惫耪Z有“說”之意，也代表著師生之間多元交流，教學相長?！霸凭怼?，寓意西聯男兒的英姿颯爽：活躍、熱情、奔放，如風卷殘云一樣勢不可擋；“云舒樓”，寓意為西聯淑女優雅端莊：溫柔、謙和、禮讓，如藍天搬運般舒緩愜意。西聯師生和合共生，風清氣正“云棲”居賢哲，“云卷云舒”寓英才。

Yunqi Apartment, Yunjuan Apartment, and Yunshu Apartment

　　Located in Yunnan province, Southwestern China, Kunming is known as the City of Spring and Flowers. Here, the education miracle, which was created by National Southwest Associated University eighty-two years ago, is once again germinating in the fertile land of Affiliated School of Kunming NSAU Research Institute. Apartments are places where teachers and students can have a good rest after teaching and learning. The configuration of the three apartments, Yunqi, Yunjuan and Yunshu, is just like the Chinese character “pin (品)”. Yunqi Apartment embraces the other two apartments, which means, teachers will instruct our students to march forward courageously in their study and care about our students genuinely and sincerely in their daily life.“Yun”also means“to speak” in ancient Chinese, representing the diversified communication and joint growth between teachers and students. Dynamic, enthusiastic and untrammeled, these characteristics are the name “Yunjuan” endowing the boys in our school. Gentle, modest and polite, the girls are anticipated to be cozy and relieved like the blue sky and white clouds. Teachers and students in Affiliated School of Kunming NSAU Research Institute harmoniously coexist with each other, living, teaching and learning positively and uprightly.

“葵茶廳”

　　我校學生食堂命名為“葵茶廳”，命名來源于西南聯大的茶館文化。在戰火紛飛的艱難歲月，國立西南聯合大學校舍簡陋，僅有一個圖書館，座位有限，于是聯大學生便選擇去茶館，帶一些書、點一碟瓜子（葵花籽），在茶館里繼續尋求自由之思想、獨立之精神，茶館自然就成了聯大學生的有一方閱讀之地，成為了他們的學識、精神滋養之地?！翱鑿d”一方面寓意西聯學校傳承聯大文化，發揚聯大精神；另一方面，葵花，寓意風清氣正的陽光校園里孕育著向陽而生的“向日葵”——莘莘西聯學子。

Sunflower Tea Canteen

　　The student canteen is named “Sunflower Tea Canteen”, named after the teahouse culture of the NSAU. During the hard times of war period, the conditions of NSAU school facilities were quite humble, and there was only one library with limited seats available. Thus, some students chose to study in the teahouse bringing some books and a plate of sunflower seeds. The students could read books there and it had gradually become the land of knowledge accumulation and spiritual nourishment, where students continued to seek the spirit of independence and freedom in thinking. On the one hand, the “Sunflower Tea Canteen” implies that our Affiliated school of Kunming NSAU Research Institute inherits the culture and promotes the spirit of NSAU. On the other hand, sunflower represents the students in our Affiliated school of Kunming NSAU Research Institute, a sunny and upright school.

“卓如園”“靜安園”“寅恪園”“宜仲園”

　　“萬花錦繡同民樂，不比青山獨樂園。伴得春風共花醉，盡教蝶鬧與蜂喧?！蔽髀撟咳鐖@、靜安園、寅恪園、宜仲園分別以清華四大導師梁啟超先生（字卓如）、王國維先生（字靜安）、陳寅恪先生、趙元任先生（字宜仲）的字或名命名。四人都是我國近代最杰出的學者，清華國學研究院正是由于他們，建立了中國學術獨立的傳統。梁啟超先生立志改良，宣傳變法，一生以救國新民為己任；王國維先生提出了古今成大事業、大學問者必經的三種境界，歷來為人稱道；陳寅恪先生以 “獨立之精神，自由之思想” 在史中求識，發展了中國的歷史考據學；趙元任先生是 “中國現代語言學之父”，一生掌握了33種方言，為中國語言學的研究事業培養了一支龐大的隊伍。漫步于佳木蔥蘢、蜂飛蝶戲、曲徑通幽、清新秀雅的西聯花園，我們對四大導師頓生崇敬之意，向學之心猶然而生。愿西聯師生以前輩為榜樣，孜孜不倦，永攀學術高峰！

Zhuoru garden, Jing 'an garden, Yinque garden and Yizhong garden

　　Zhuoru garden, Jing 'an garden, Yinque garden and Yizhong garden were respectively named after the four great mentors of Tsinghua university, Mr. Liang Qichao (Zhuoru as courtesy name), Mr. Wang Guowei (Jing 'an as courtesy name), Mr. Chen Yinque (no courtesy name) and Mr. Zhao Yuanren (Yizhong as courtesy name). They are among the most outstanding scholars in modern China. Thanks to them, the Tsinghua institute of Chinese studies established the tradition of academic independence in China. Mr. Liang Qichao determined to improve and publicize the reform movement, and devoted his life to save the nation and new people; Mr. Wang Guowei put forward three realms that the great people and famous scholars must experience no matter in the ancient time or in the modern time, which had always been praised by people; Mr. Chen Yinque developed Chinese historical textual research by seeking knowledge in history with his "spirit of independence and freedom in thinking". Mr. Zhao Yuanren is the "father of modern Chinese linguistics". He mastered 33 dialects in total and cultivated a big team for the research of Chinese linguistics. Our school gardens are beautiful with ever flourishing trees, meadows and winding walking paths. Also, this beautiful scenery attracts many butterflies and bees flying around. 　　我校體育館名為“馬約翰館”，食堂與足球場之間的路名為“馬約翰路”，以紀念清華著名體育家、體育理論家和教育家、西南聯大教授馬約翰先生，勉勵西聯學子以馬約翰先生提出的“為祖國健康工作五十年”為目標，積極進行體育鍛煉，強體魄、養精神，同時也體現西聯學校傳承馬約翰體育精神，培養體育特長生的辦學特色。

　　In the honor of professor John Ma, a famous sports theorist and educator of Tsinghua university and Southwest Associated University, the school gym is called "John Ma Gym" and the road between the canteen and the football field is called "John Ma Road". Mr. Ma once encouraged students of Southwest Associated University to actively take exercise and be strong and energetic so that they can achieve the goal of "staying fit and working hard for the country for 50 years".
